What Stereophonics Mean to Me

Hello,

So a long time ago I wrote an article about my life with Oasis and what the band mean to me, so I thought it would be a good idea to write about what Stereophonics mean to me (a lot, to sum it up).

When Stereophonics were just getting into the swing of things, my mum went to a small gig of theirs and she was pregnant with me... I was then born not long after and was brought up with their music.

As soon as I hear their music, it reminds me of when I was younger going on car journeys, enjoying the summer and not worrying about a single thing. They were my favourite band and they used to relax me an extreme amount as soon as I heard their tracks (they still do!).

I remember growing up and suffering with severe panic attacks, and they calmed me down. I'm so pleased to say I'm now free from the suffering, and this is largely thanks to them.

On 28th November 2013, I went to my first Stereophonics concert at the O2 Arena, and it was one of the best nights of my life. It was my very first concert ever, and I'd never felt so alive.

So, on their next tour, 23rd March 2015, I went back to see them at the Royal Albert Hall at their TCT gig. Once again it was amazing, they played new music, and I wasn't disappointed in the slightest.

Finally, 16th December 2015, I went back to the O2 Arena to see them live for the third time. I'd been anticipating to go back for over 2 years, once again an amazing night (and I most definitely wasn't trying to hold back the tears as I heard childhood songs live such as Handbags and Gladrags, Maybe Tomorrow and Mr Writer- of course not...)

Bands I Want to See Live

Hello,

Despite there being about 3,000 of them, there are a few bands/groups which I'm desperate to see live at some point, whether this be in the next year or 10 years. Here are a few of them and why:

Red Hot Chili Peppers

RHCP are always a band I've wanted to see live. The atmosphere is crazy and they play both old and new songs, so I would definitely not want to miss them. With an album currently being recorded, they should be touring late this year/next year (fingers crossed!).

Guns N' Roses

Another amazing band live are Guns N' Roses (if they show up). I'm desperate to see them since they put on a great show, and the original line-up are reuniting this year, so (hopefully) there will be a UK tour to follow.

The Killers

Following their London gig at the Royal Albert Hall, I'd absolutely love to see The Killers live in London. The atmosphere is nothing like you have ever seen before, and they always play oldies, classic and lesser known songs. Despite them currently going their own ways, hopefully they'll write a new album and go on tour again.

Kings of Leon

The band which I am hoping to see the most in this list is probably KOL. As expected, the atmosphere is amazing from start to finish, and each song played live is just like recorded on the album. They are going back to their first studio to write their new album, followed by a tour and hopefully visiting London.

The Prodigy

I've mentioned The Prodigy a few times in my last articles, but they are the only (apart from Empire of the Sun) electronic group which I can enjoy. Their concerts are absolutely crazy and the crowd is mental. They just went on tour and released a new album, but hopefully at some point in the future I will get hold of tickets.

AC/DC

Another rock band which every rock fan wants to see live is of course, AC/DC. They are amazing live and it is an experience to last a lifetime, with the crowds huge and the music better than ever. They have just toured and are visiting London in June, but I'd love to see them at some point in the future!

Empire of the Sun

Finally, the last act which I am desperate to see live is the electronic group Empire of the Sun. They put on a spectacular show live and it is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Hopefully a new album will be released at some point followed by a tour!

So there we go, 7 bands which I would love to see live!
