Music Of The Week!

Hi guys,

Every Monday I am going to post (or at least try to post) my music of the week, including songs, albums and bands! So here's my music of the week..

SONG OF THE WEEK-

This week I'm addicted to 'Leave My Guitar Alone' which is a B-Side track from Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds latest album, 'Chasing Yesterday'. It has a great catchy tune to the song and a must-listen to for all rock/blues fans!

ALBUM OF THE WEEK-

This week's album is most certainly 'Urban Hymns' by The Verve. Yes, this album is not recent (most of the music that I write about won't be recent) but it has an amazing vibe to the album which will never die, and I've loved since it very first came out!

BAND OF THE WEEK-

My band of the week has got to be Pink Floyd, as I have been listening to their tracks and researching their lyrics and have fallen in love! By far, Pink Floyd are my favourite band of the week.

So there is my music of the week, and I'll be updating you with my latest favourite tracks next Monday!

Upcoming and Ongoing Tours!

Usually with bands, after an album is released, the fans look forward to the upcoming tour!

So, for todays article, I thought that I would share some of the upcoming/ongoing tours (or one off gigs) of the rock music world, some you may not know about!

Stereophonics
As I am extremely excited about, Stereophonics are releasing a new album this September with an upcoming tour following in possibly November.. If you want to see the Phonics before November, they are doing many UK festivals this year so see if you can get some tickets!

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds
The High Flying Birds are touring again, and it's currently ongoing. Noel is going all around the world this time, and tickets are still available! He is also doing some festivals and tickets are available to purchase.

Metallica
Although Metallica do not currently have any upcoming tours, they are performing at a couple of festivals this year and tickets are still available.

Aerosmith
Aerosmith have an upcoming tour, although only around the US, so no luck for us Brits! But if you live in America then tickets are available.

Fleetwood Mac
Fleetwood Mac are currently touring all around the world! They are doing absolutely tons of gigs with tickets still available on websites such as www.getmein.com at varied prices, so see if you can get in!

Def Leppard
Def Leppard are back with a tour (announced in March), and this time they are touring with Whitesnake. Tickets are still available so grab them if you get the chance!

The Prodigy
As many fans may know, The Prodigy have just released a new album and therefore this means a tour! Tickets are still available on many websites so go and check them out.

Blur
Blur are releasing a new album this year, with a few upcoming festivals booked and possibly a tour to be announced, and luckily the tickets are not yet sold out.

Franz Ferdinand
Franz Ferdinand have a few venues booked, with tickets still available so grab them whilst you can!

What tours/events have I just missed?
So here's the disappointing bit, the gigs you might have missed, and here's a list..
  • The Teenage Cancer Trust gigs are now over at the Royal Albert Hall, including Stereophonics, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Paul Weller, The Who and much more... Maybe next year!
  • The Eagles finished touring last year and I doubt they'll tour again (unfortunately..)
  • Coldplay have also just finished touring, but another album and tour will soon be on the cards.
  • Kings of Leon have finished their tour, with limited tickets... Although they are planning to bring out another album possibly this year so don't get too down-hearted!

Let me know in the comments below what articles you would like to see next!

Graffiti on the Train - Album Review

Hi guys!

2013 saw some great albums, followed by amazing tours...

One of them was the album Graffiti on the Train by Stereophonics, which by far was my favourite of the year. So, I've decided to write a review on it!

Album Cover
The overall album was simply amazing, you'd be lucky if you even came close to this masterpiece. Once again, Kelly Jones' songwriting skills smashed it and this album is one of the best they've ever done... Definitely a 5 star album.

1. We Share The Same Sun

This is the first track on the album, and probably one of the most catchiest. It has a summery feel (Hence the title of the song) that you can't help but love.

2. Graffiti on the Train

The main song on the album, and if you listen closely, the lyrics tell a story. One of the most emotional songs on 'Graffiti on the Train' that is an absolute masterpiece.

3. Indian Summer

Another track with a summery feel, and definitely a feel-good song within the album. Brilliant song.

4. Take Me

This song is rather similar to 'Violins and Tambourines' with a more deep feel to it and of course, including Kelly Jones' deep and mysterious voice.

5. Catacomb

One of my favourite tracks on this album, and by far the most rock n' roll track! Without a doubt, for you rock-genre lovers, this is the track for you.

6. Roll The Dice

Another brilliantly written song by Kelly Jones', a little different to the tracks he usually writes and creates but nonetheless excellent.

7. Violins and Tambourines

Violins and Tambourines is an amazing song, and the most mysterious on 'Graffiti on the Train', but once again Kelly Jones' deep voice tops it off.

8. Been Caught Cheating

This song was written by Kelly and originally to be sung by Amy Winehouse as it has a blue-sy, acoustic feel to it. Simply brilliant.

9. In a Moment

'In a Moment' is another amazing track that is not only memorable but also contains some great lyrics. The music video is great too!

10. No-One's Perfect

This song on the album is by far my favourite for the lyrics. It has a more relaxing and chilled feel to it, which I absolutely love.

More album reviews soon,

Oasis Reunion?

Hi guys!

This is my first blog entry, so I thought why not write about something all us Oasis/Beady Eye/NGHFB fans are confused upon... An Oasis reunion.

I think it's pretty agreed that all fans are for a reunion of the all-time best Britpop band, it would brighten up the music world and introduce people back into the much needed rock n roll... But...

There is one, and only one reason why this shouldn't go ahead...

As we all know, NGHFB (Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds) have just brought out an album called Chasing Yesterday (Which I'll be reviewing shortly), but Noel is doing extremely well and making some of his best ever music in this band than he ever has, so would an Oasis reunion just drag him back instead of forwards?

They currently won't reunite obviously because of the ongoing feud between Liam and Noel, which we thought was settling down when Liam was seen on Twitter with a VIP card, being invited to one of Noel's gigs...

But soon after, Noel said in an interview that Liam wasn't even invited to the gig and that he was holding up someone else's VIP card...

So will they or won't they? I'm not sure whether Oasis will ever reunite, but it's still possible...

Here's a NG quote to leave you with:

"I hate the name Oasis, it sounds like a reggae band or something. Plus, it's all over drinks bottles now."
