Invaders Must Die - Album Review

Hello,

So I've decided I'm going to do another album review on something slightly different than normal, and this would be The Prodigy's- Invaders Must Die. This has been one of my favourite albums of all time ever since it was released, so I thought it would be a good idea to review it.

Track 1- Invaders Must Die

This song is a brilliant way to start off the album, with an immediately catchy bass and drop. I'd have to say this has always been one of my favourites from the album and the first song I heard, one of their best.

Track 2- Omen

With the second track being 'Omen', The Prodigy had already won my approval of this album. It is one of the catchiest songs with interesting but nevertheless amazing lyrics, and the way the song is put together electronically (along with the others) is simply unbeatable.

Track 3- Thunder

'Thunder' has been one of the songs I've listened to a little less on this album, but it is still absolutely amazing and reflects what The Prodigy's music is all about- madness.

Track 4- Colours

Once again, 'Colours' is one of the songs I've listened to less on the album, although it is one of the more popular and is still excellent work by the group.

Track 5- Take Me To The Hospital

Ah, one of the best tracks on the album, 'Take Me To The Hospital'. This is also one of the more popular and catchier songs, and it is just astonishing. It doesn't get much better than this from The Prodigy, although it is not my absolute favourite on the album.

Track 6- Warrior's Dance

And now for my favourite on the album- 'Warrior's Dance'. I'm not sure why, whether it be the catchy tune or the unbeatable drop, but this has always been the best track in my eyes. I've also always found the music video fitting and interesting to watch.

Track 7- Run With The Wolves

With this song being the seventh on 'Invaders Must Die', it just maintains the amazing and energetic flow of the album. This song sounds a lot rockier and less electronic than some of the others, but it all goes together perfectly.

Track 8- Omen Reprise

Following on from the amazing track 'Omen', this short reprise definitely keeps everyone listening to the album and wanting more. I love this short reprise and it's definitely one of the best I've ever heard in an album.

Track 9- World's On Fire

Once again, 'World's On Fire' is one of the more rockier songs within the album, but this just makes it seem even better (especially being a huge fan of the rock genre). I'd love to see this live.

Track 10- Piranha

Coming towards the end of this amazing album, 'Piranha' is definitely one of my favourites. It sounds almost halloween-like (hence why I shall be playing it continuously this halloween), and just all year round...

Track 11- Stand Up

And finally, to end this album on such an amazing song (unless you bought the deluxe edition), 'Stand Up' is just perfect. Most people recognise this as it was featured in one of the 'Kick Ass' films, but it is just unbelievable.

Overall Rating- 5/5 (to be picky, 4.8)

So this is one of my favourite ever albums as previously said, and I couldn't bare to score it any less. If you haven't listened to 'Invaders Must Die', or any of The Prodigy's stuff infact, then I highly recommend it. Leave any comments down below on albums you want me to review next time and I'll make sure I do.

Upcoming and Ongoing Tours #3!

Hello,

So I have written blog posts on Upcoming and Ongoing Tours twice before, so considering many have been announced/are being announced currently, I thought it would be only suitable to do an updated version, as I think I last wrote one in June (and a lot has happened in the music industry since then!)

Red Hot Chili Peppers

That's right, the Chili's are finally touring again, and this time in the UK with an exciting trip to the O2 (which I may be attending, although I am not sure). I believe they are also touring around the world with a world tour following their recent release of Dark Necessities.

Guns N'Roses

Guns N'Roses are currently on a tour around North America, which is unlucky for us Brits, although they may announce some UK dates at some point soon (we can hope!).

Aerosmith

I may have mentioned this in my last post, but Aerosmith are planning a farewell tour in 2017, which will be sad, but they will be touring around the world and dates may be announced fairly soon.

Green Day

One of the most anticipated upcoming tours is the Green Day tour. Despite only doing 3 UK dates, I believe they are touring around the world this year/next year, and dates have already been announced. However, if you have not already grabbed tickets, they are mainly sold out, so you'll have to pay a small fortune for them!

The Killers

I shall note that this is definitely not confirmed, but The Killers are apparently releasing a new album, meaning there MAY be a tour after this around either the world or just the UK, so keep your eyes peeled!

Liam Gallagher

Liam Gallagher has announced that he is releasing a solo album as of next year, which should be followed by a UK tour, so that is something to definitely look out for.

Kings of Leon

Another tour that has not yet been announced or confirmed, but following the 14th October release of WALLS, Kings of Leon should do a world tour with some UK dates (hopefully in London so I can grab some tickets myself!), and it will be extremely exciting, so keep a look out.

Ocean Colour Scene

After having tour dates out for a while, with many nights sold out, Ocean Colour Scene have many upcoming dates in the UK which I believe you can still grab tickets for, so if you're interested, it is definitely worth the try!

Richard Ashcroft

For all Ashcroft and The Verve fans, Richard Ashcroft has released many UK arena tour dates including London's O2 arena (and I don't think they're all sold out yet!).

Bastille

Fairly recently, Bastille announced many UK arena dates (many are sold out, but tickets can still be grabbed due to extra dates added on). Luckily, I have managed to get tickets myself and I am seriously looking forward to it as they are simply outstanding live, so it's worth a look.

Empire of the Sun

Following a new album release soon, Empire of the Sun have released a few dates, including a very short notice one off date at London's Roundhouse this month. That date is completely sold out, but have a look for others and many more to hopefully be released soon.

American Authors

And finally (not one for us in the UK), but American Authors have many tour dates around America, so if you live in any of the areas announced, they are worth getting tickets for.

And for the disappointing part...

Tours that have recently ended include those by Stereophonics, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds (I shall write an article about my visit to Brixton Academy on September 8th on his final  tour night!), Coldplay, AC/DC and many more. However, new tours are being announced and it is all very exciting in the music industry currently!

This Month's Album Releases!

Hello!

Sorry I have not posted for a while, but since I have started music college I have decided to start posting more and hopefully stay committed this time.

So in this post, I thought I'd talk about 3 pretty big albums coming out this month (there may be more coming out, but these are 3 I have been personally waiting for, for rather a long time!)

#1- Green Day, Revolution Radio (UK Release 10th October)

So after waiting for 2 years for a new Green Day album, they have finally announced a new album for the 10th October, and three amazing songs have already been released. I'm seriously looking forward to this album despite not being able to grab tickets at their limited UK tour dates, and so far it looks promising.

#2- Kings of Leon, WALLS (UK Release 14th October)

So 4 days after the release of Revolution Radio, we have Kings of Leon's WALLS (We Are Like Love Songs) to look forward to. I have been waiting over 3 years for the release of a new KOL album, and this is the one that I am looking forward to by far. By the release of 3 new songs, this looks to be promising.

#3- Empire of the Sun, Two Vines (UK Release 28th October)

And finally, after 3 years, Empire of the Sun are finally releasing a new album, and judging by the 3 songs they have released from Two Vines, it is looking promising and something to seriously look forward to. Very much like their first album but quite different!

So there we have it, 3 amazing albums to be released this month. My new blog post will be on upcoming tours as many have been recently announced!
