Paul Weller?

Hello everyone,

So today I thought I was post a random article on Paul Weller and his album 'Saturns Pattern' (I can't do a full album review yet since I haven't listened to it all properly just yet)

I've listened to Weller ever since I was very young and loved songs like 'Wild Wood', 'You Do Something To Me' and many more, but his last few albums have been pretty disappointing.

Everyone might absolutely kill me for saying this, but I don't think his new psychadelic style is as good as his old stuff atall... The only track I like on the new album is 'Saturns Pattern' which is a great song, but the others are a bit of a let-down.

We've had some great albums come out this year such as 'Chasing Yesterday' and the upcoming 'Keep The Village Alive', but this one just hasn't done it for me yet :(

Let me know in the comments below what you think of the new album!

Music of the Week!

So, here's my Music of the Week (Sorry I haven't done it in a while!)

SONG OF THE WEEK-
This weeks song of the week is really hard for me to pick... But it would probably have to be C'est La Vie by Stereophonics from their new upcoming album 'Keep The Village Alive'... The new song along with the music video is amazing so I suggest you check it out!

ALBUM OF THE WEEK-
This weeks album of the week was another hard choice but it would have to be 'Chasing Yesterday' by Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, I might have picked this before... It's just so amazing and I've done a previous review of it before and I absolutely love it.

BAND OF THE WEEK-
Band of the week this week is somebody who I've just started getting into, and saw them live as a pre-act for Stereophonics at the Royal Albert Hall this year, but it has got to be Supergrass! I absolutely love them and will probably write an article about them sometime soon.

So there is my music of the week, I promise I will post more often! Paul Weller post coming up next at some point TODAY!

Mechanical Bull - Album Review

This week's album review is on the amazing Mechanical Bull by Kings of Leon... This is their latest album and I've been in love with it ever since I first heard the tracks!

Overall Review- This album is absolutely amazing, with an American-Rock feel that you cannot resist. Once you listen to a track from this album once, you get hooked to that track immediately. There are no faults with this album, so I'd give it a 5 stars! I very rarely give a good album anything lower... Perhaps I should review something a little less perfect...

Supersoaker- This was the very first song I heard and fell in love with it immediately... This is such   an energetic song with a great feel to it! Love it!

Rock City- 'Rock City' has an amazing rhythm to the song, with quite confusing lyrics to de-code, but nevertheless an amazing song which is underrated!

Don't Matter- This is one of the more rockier tracks on Mechanical Bull, but I absolutely love it and Caleb's voice tops it off.

Beautiful War- This song made me cry when I first heard it, and not many songs tend to make me cry unless they are amazing (Along with I Miss You Now by Stereophonics and pretty much any Snow Patrol song ever written), but it truly is beautiful as stated in the title. One of the best KOL have ever written.

Temple- This track is a little different to the others, but just as good. I absolutely love this and the lyrics are perfection, there is nothing to fault once again with this one.

Wait For Me- Another one of the slower songs within Mechanical Bull, with some superb lyrics and a great backing track!

Family Tree- 'Family Tree' is an energetic song which you will immediately adore... Amazing song with yet again great lyrics (I seem to be repeating myself here!!) but I guarantee you'll love it!

Comeback Story- This is probably my favourite song on this album for lyrics... They are simply beautiful and I cannot stop listening to it!!

Tonight- This was the second track I heard of 'Mechanical Bull' and knew that the album was going to be amazing, perfect song to (almost) end the album!

Coming Back Again- Another great track... One of the lesser known but still brilliant. Love it!

On the Chin- Perfect song to end 'Mechanical Bull' with... Another beautifully written song and just tops off the album!

So there you go, that is this weeks album review... Let me know in the comments below what album you'd like me to review next, and look out for Music of The Week on Monday!

I should be putting up another blog post tonight on Under-rated Bands so also look out for that!

Music of the Week!

My second post of the day... Music of the Week!

I love doing these posts and sharing with you guys my Music of the Week, so let's get started!

SONG OF THE WEEK
This was an extremely hard one for me this week, but it has to be 'Uma Therman' by Fall Out Boy, in their new album American Beauty/American Psycho. This is different to what I'd usually pick since it isn't very rock'n'roll, but it's interesting and has me dancing!

BAND OF THE WEEK
My favourite band of the week was extremely easy to pick, and this is 'Beady Eye', the spin off band from Oasis with Liam Gallagher as frontman. The band broke up late last year, but the 2 albums which they did were superb.

ALBUM OF THE WEEK
My album of the week which was another hard one to pick is 'By The Way' by Red Hot Chili Peppers, which contains some fantastic songs and although it is old, it's a classic.

So there is my music of the week, let me know your music of the week in the comments below!

Chasing Yesterday - Album Review

Hello!

Today I'll be posting 2 posts... Album Review (Which was meant to be done on Friday, woops!) and Music of The Week which I'll be posting every Monday.

So, today's album review is of Chasing Yesterday by Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds...
Overall Review:
I was really surprised by 'Chasing Yesterday', but in a definite positive way... Every song is different in it's own way and some are sad, whereas some have a happier vibe.. I also love how each song flows into each other, and this album deserves 5 stars!

Riverman
I am in LOVE with the solo's and backing track in this song... Saxophones, guitars, pianos, you name it.. And they all fit beautifully within each other. I will never get sick of this song, and it's one of my favourites in the album.

In the Heat of the Moment
This was the first track I heard on Noel's new album, and the most catchiest and probably the most popular. I absolutely love it!

The Girl with X-Ray Eyes
I love the lyrics to this song and Noel's voice in this one.. Absolutely brilliant song within the album.

Lock All The Doors
This is another one of my favourites in the album and one of the rockiest/most energetic within 'Chasing Yesterday', and probably the second most popular to 'In the Heat of the Moment'.

The Dying of the Light
This song is absolute perfection, and the saddest/most emotional on the album with some truly beautiful and well-written lyrics by Noel Gallagher.. It has been known as the best song he has ever written by critics!

The Right Stuff
'The Right Stuff' is very different to the usual songs that Noel writes, but in a positive way... This has a rather psychedelic vibe, and is a great track.

While the Song Remains the Same
This song is another sadder song on 'Chasing Yesterday' and is quite similar to 'The Dying of the Light' but has a completely different story to tell and is absolutely brilliant.

The Mexican
This song is definitely, by far the most upbeat track on the album and another one of my favourites, which you cannot resist but dance to as soon as you hear it!

You Know We Can't Go Back
This is another upbeat song nearing to the end of the album, which is absolutely brilliant and has won me over! (Fun Fact- The song contains the lyrics 'You know we can't go back' because Liam Gallagher said this to Noel!)

Ballad of the Mighty I
Finishing the album off is 'Ballad of the Mighty I' which is another amazing track, and the second one I heard within 'Chasing Yesterday', which I absolutely love and is another popular one!

So there is my album review of 'Chasing Yesterday', let me know in the comments below what you think of this album!
